About the Role

Our client is a well-known state government agency managing WA’s roads. They are currently seeking a Project Finance Officer to come in and join their team based in East Perth on a 6 month temp contract with possible extensions.

Candidates for this role must have:

  • Previous Project Accounting or Finance experience
  • Project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and financial analysis
  • Financial accounting systems experience

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide specialist support in building project financial cost formation - forecasting capability through continued improvement of the forecasting model and integration with existing systems.
  • Act as liaison between finance staff/business support team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the project management and cost, and investigate any variances.
  • Provide quarterly recoup on finances
  • Provide training and assistance on PCM to PMs on a request basis
  • Provide assistance and support to the wider Project/Management Accounting team as and when required, including input to Budget & Programming, Government reporting or returns.
  • Establish and maintain project financial reporting standards and integrate project financial reporting into project portfolio/Directorate reporting.
  • Apply analysis and problem-solving techniques to improve the accuracy of project financial information.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Finance Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous roles.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Project Accounting, finance or similar role
  • Project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and financial analysis
  • Coaching, influencing and advising others to adopt financial management best practices
  • Financial accounting systems
  • Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
  • Written communication, negotiation and facilitation
